Veja: The trainers you can wear with everything
Meet the most ethical sneaker brand in the world
Sneakers have replaced high heels – for good reason: They are so much more comfortable but no less stylish. With the launch of its winter collection French brand Veja proves just that. Their range of sneakers are simple in the best sense of the word. Many take inspiration from classic court shoes, such as Adidas’ Stan Smiths, or Nike’s Blazers. Founded in 2005 by friends Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion, Veja has managed to put together, in a smart and fun way, style and sustainability.
The most important difference between the French brand and the big names is how they are made. Veja uses organic cotton and experiments with ecological materials, such as leather made from the skin of Tilapia, a fish commonly farmed for food. Veja sources materials directly from local producers in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest, and stitches them together at a socially conscious factory in southern Brazil. It’s expensive and difficult and thus a rather unlikely business model. But it works well, due to its highly committed and inventive founders and their team. More so, it has helped earn Veja celebrity fans all over the world, such as Emma Watson, Marion Cotillard, Charlotte Gainsbourg and David Beckham. Besides being sold in the best stores, they also do collaborations with international names like Flaneurz in 2017, Agnes B and Starcow in 2014 to just name a few.
We have seen the coolest girls wearing Veja and we love it! Whether that’s with a dress, a pair of cropped trousers, or fringed-hem jeans, this classic perfectly goes with everything. You love being comfortable and looking good at the same time? Fashion is on your side then – and Veja will be your next favorite shoes if you haven’t tried them yet. If you’d like to reserve your personal pair of Veja’s go to our store and browse our selection as seen below.
