How to style your trench coat for the mid-season
Trench, bomber jackets, blazers…The constant changing weather can play some not so nice tricks to our daily outfit planning. And I am the master of disaster when it comes to that…I am sure you have already been in the situation – like myself – in which you are ready to go with your nice outfit and then…you realize you don’t have the right coat or even worse the weather has changed so much in the last 30 minutes that you don’t know anymore if it’s summer, winter or spring! Nonetheless, it is a matter of fact that a good coat is essential and a good outwear investment is synonym of long-term rewards. This is why you can never be too prepared with an extra layer or two and we all know that one coat is not going to be enough for all situations or not even the right fit for your daily outfit.
Spring is around the corner and I personally find mid-seasons always tricky when it comes to outwear (I am such a Mediterranean person!). This is probably why the Brits are mastering it with their historical trench, considering that 80% of the year they have to deal with rain. It is a classic piece that you can match with every outfit you are planning to wear. When the temperatures are a bit more chilled you can wear a blazer underneath. Otherwise the trench by itself will be enough for your morning bike rides during spring.
If the temperatures are still a bit chilly grab a pair of jeans and a nice knitwear to keep you warm. Match the casual look with a pair of booties, grab the trench and you are ready to go with this casual chic urban outfit!
The sun is shining and you feel like it’s the right moment to show off your legs – but lets be honest, there is still a little cold breeze in the air? No better way to opt for a long trench coat matched with a dress – at the moment I am in love with this Closed suede dress! Want to make this look a bit more casual? Put some sneakers on a match the whole with a little clutch…you are ready to go!
