Shop the Look – Coats and Mules

How to recreate a simple effortless look in 5 minutes

This time of the year weather can be tricky and often I don’t  know what to wear, spending way too much time in front of my closet. A few months ago I wrote a jacket guide, showing the different kind of jackets and coats that are perfect for the midseason – when the weather changes as fast as my mood and I always end up being to cold or too hot! One of my favorite items for the season have been my trench coats. They look good with any outfit and are suitable for every occasion. Whatever I wear, I put a long trench or duster coat and it works perfectly. When it comes to shoes I have been obsessed with mules… yes I know you might be thinking why? If there were ever any shoes with a long history of bad impression and reputation, they are the clogs and mules. I know it. However, they can actually look fashionable. With the right ones to wear and the right outfit to pair with it, clogs and mules might be your favorite shoes to wear for spring and summer. For one thing, they are both comfortable to wear. For another, they’re super versatile and can be worn to any occasion with almost any kind of style. As you might have understood by now, trench and mules have been my uniform this season. What I love the most about them is that wherever I go – from the supermarket, to work or an evening event – they look good and most of all are comfortable.

For a more elegant outfit I love the Stella McCartney trench. Since the temperatures can be high I like to mix it with a sleeveless top and a white jeans. To finish the look the Carrie Forbes mules are perfect for any occasion, in the city or somewhere more summery on the beach.

Trench coats can also be a nice match with mid length skirts. To go to work and have a professional but relaxed look at the same time you can match a denim skirt with a printed shirt. Since I love mules, the Acne Studios velvet Amina are extremely comfortable and elegant at the same time.

Weekend is synonym of relax and comfortability for me – but I still like to look nice. Forget about leggings and sneakers! A classic denim matched with a print t-shirt is the perfect outfit. And to complete the look nothing better than the pink Aeyde mules with a light long mid season trench.
