With her brand lemlem this model helps preserve the Ethiopian craft of weaving
Please meet Liya Kebede, the Ethiopian model/actress and founder of clothing brand lemlem. She started her brand back in 2007 after a trip to her home country where she learned that the traditional weavers were losing their jobs as the demand for their goods had declined locally. In the last nine years lemlem has been able to expand from the women’s range to a men’s, children’s and home collection as well, thus helping the weavers keep up their work while at the same time preserving an artisanal craft. All products are made of natural cotton and handmade by Ethiopian weavers.
My favorite right now is this pair of shorts as they are a comfortable and chic summer staple. To buy them, check our Fair-a-porter Shop!
