Let’s the sale season begin!

Our favorite brands items on sale that you shouldn’t miss

Sale season has officially start and I am already getting quite excited. I usually don’t like to buy too many clothes because I have noticed that I always end up wearing the same: my favorite denim, some basic tops and so on. Let’s put it this way – experimenting and trying new things is not my strength! Nonetheless, probably like you, I love looking at shops, new collections, magazines … and I have put my eyes on a few items I would love to get this season. Even better if they are on sale.  I have put together a little guide with some of my favorite brands and the top items on sale that shouldn’t be missed. Who knows, maybe you get some inspiration for your next shopping trip.

Acne Studios is definitely one of my favorite Scandinavian brands. They broke into fashion by getting one of its most common items right: The blue jeans. To this day they manage to marry both, a contemporary take on denim and lasting style. And they make denim that lasts by using quality fabric and excellent craftsmanship. The good quality and craftmanship are true of all of their collections, the lasting style is a matter of taste when it comes to their catwalk offerings. Throughout the years they have expanded their collections with ready to wear, accessories etc.

As the bikini season is almost here (or maybe for some of you it has already started), I couldn’t not mention one of my favorite label, Bower swimwear (read my interview with the founders here). The cuts are just amazing and every season they have some timeless additions (if you are addicted to one-piece swimsuit this is the brand to know!). They source their fabrics in Italy and France and produce in a family factory based in Portugal, that they visit regularly.

Erdem has come to be synonymous with versatile yet powerful femininity. Known for his use of experimental textiles, vibrant prints, and detailed craftsmanship, Erdem has created a beautiful world of the delicate mixed with the bold.

Gabriela Hearst was founded with the idea to create a brand that reflects a slower pace and process: where things are made with care and detail, where tradition is more important than trend, where there is a purpose to every piece. Gabriela’s commitment is to make a strong and modern collection without compromising her ethics and key values, taking into consideration where materials come from and who is making them: luxury with a conscience or in other words, “honest luxury”. Each garment is an item into which Gabriela can pour her desire—made with impeccable construction and uncompromising, noble materials. Together, they tell a story of the places she loves that made her who she is: Uruguay and New York. Combining the utilitarian and the beautiful, she wanted to design long-lasting garments that hold memories for the woman who wears them.

The brand Lem Lem was founded by Ethiopian model/actress Liya Kebede to preserve the Ethiopian craft of weaving. She started her brand back in 2007 after a trip to her home country where she learned that the traditional weavers were losing their jobs as the demand for their goods had declined locally. In the last nine years Lem Lem has been able to expand from the women’s range to a men’s, children’s and home collection as well, thus helping the weavers keep up their work while at the same time preserving an artisanal craft. All products are made of natural cotton and handmade by Ethiopian weavers.

I love good sportswear, which is not always easy to find. A few years ago I felt in love with the american brand Live the Process.  They ethically produced in the United States by like-minded individuals who are devoted to their same level of mindfulness. They employ better practices throughout the supply chain to reduce environmental impact, including recycled packaging and carbon-neutral shipping. Each piece not only looks beautiful and reflects a conscious lifestyle, but also allows you to perform at your best thanks to high-tech innovations like four-way stretch, breathability, heat retention, moisture wicking, UV stop, and water and wind repellent fabrication.

Mansur Gavriel has been my bag crash for the last few years. I am completely in love with these bags but unfortunately they a bit out of my budget. This is why I constantly keep an eye on their sales waiting for the right deal. The label presents high quality, Italian made products with great attention to material, color and detail. They are designed in NY and produced in Italy.

Inspired by the lounging pyjamas worn by Coco Chanel and her contemporaries in the 1920s, Oliva von Halle started work with her tailor to design the perfect pair of pyjamas to launch her own brand. The garments are made to the highest possible standards; the silk piping is handmade and they always use mother of pearl buttons and French seams. It is 100% silk – the term satin applies to the weave, which is why the fabric has a beautiful shine. They produce the collection in Hangzhou, which is traditionally the world centre for silk production and the start of the silk road. Each year Olivia spends around 2 months a year in China overseeing production. A team headed up by the inimitable Mrs. Wang undertakes a massive quality control inspection, with each pair being checked for over 60 different measurements and potential issues.
