How to – wear corduroy
Corduroy isn’t only for your geography school teach – get the look this fall!
Give a brake to your denim and go corduroy! The older I get, the more I realize the kind of fashion kid I was. My mother worked in fashion and quite obviously I was dressed as a proper french fashionista. The worse memory I have are striped tights, sponge dress and corduroy. So you can imagine my face when I saw the Marc Jacobs or Prada fall 2017 shows!
This rigid and ribbed fabric has been taking over our closets this season and I was a bit skeptical about it. It’s definitely not a flattering or sexy fabric – I mean, not even Kendall or Bella look that great in it! Let’s not even talk about a corduroy night outfit: have you ever seen a corduroy slip dress strolling into a cocktail party? In my mind, corduroy is more of a uniformed schoolgirl go-to, a retro daytime material – a Jane Birkin kind of look.
However, it looks like fashion designers have dona a good job this time and made me reconsider this ’70s signature fabric with this cool comeback in autumnal shades like burgundy, chestnut, and canary yellow. I am a big fan of the ’70s so flared pants and everything with any sort of autumnal shades are a must!
