The jacket guide

5 ways to cover up in style

Jacket, jackets…The constant changing weather can play some not so nice tricks to our daily outfit planning. And I am the master of disaster when it comes to that…I am sure you have already been in the situation – like myself – in which you are ready to go with your nice outfit and then…you realize you don’t have the right coat or even worse the weather has changed so much in the last 30 minutes that you don’t know anymore if it’s summer, winter or spring! Nonetheless, it is a matter of fact that a good coat is essential and a good outwear investment is synonym of long-term rewards. This is why you can never be too prepared with an extra layer or two and we all know that one coat is not going to be enough for all situations or not even the right fit for your daily outfit. I decided to put together a little “outwear guide” to identify coats and jackets that are indispensable for all sort of weather and outfit.

When it feels like spring, grab your blazer and you are ready to go! This classic item is a must have for every closet. Match it with a pair of jeans and trainers for a more relaxed look or with with some more elegant pants for your business meeting.

Bomber jackets are the perfect every season item when there’s a bit more bite in the air. This season it was their glory period both on the runway and on the streets. This jacket is the realization of an all-purpose piece that is going to take you from the office to the streets.

Parkas are my favorite. From autumn to spring they protect you from all sort of weather and they are a classic un-temporary piece which you can wear with a more sporty look but also with a nice dress underneath.

Mid seasons are always tricky when it comes to outwear and this is why the Brits are mastering it with their historical trench. It is a classic piece that you can match with every outfit you are planning to wear. When the temperatures are a bit more chilled you can wear a blazer underneath. Otherwise the trench by itself will be enough for your morning bike rides during spring.
