Fall Trend – the slouchy pantsuit
The classic come back!
One of this fall trends that go me super excited is the slouchy pantsuits. From Jil Sander to Christophe Lemaire and Celine, it looks like next season we will have the chance to be classy and comfortable at the same time. Don’t take me wrong – I like skinny jeans and have lived wearing them for the past 10 years. Nonetheless, I appreciate comfort and there’s nothing better than oversize items for that!
It isn’t the first time that the slouchy suit made a notable appearance. It has been said that the runway goes through cycles: Every 20 years, there’s a rehash of trends. And it seems like it’s true. In 1997 Vogue Magazine reported the “The Slouch Suit” and chronicled the trend in Milan. The ’90s minimalism, the blazer and pant sets became the official uniform of career women from every background, from politics to fashion. This year the pantsuit comes with different alterations. Gucci proposes a low-slung, wide-leg pants and a structured blazer thrown over a semi-sheer shirt. At Michael Kors, the suit was tawny yellow with pinstripes in exaggerated proportions. Jil Sander nailed a relaxed take on executive realness in gray scale, the pieces seemingly plucked out of some broad-shouldered boyfriend’s closet. Since we are big fan of the style as well we have put together a selection of slouchy pants for every taste and every style!
