How to embrace different shades of red
When it comes to colors and fashion I am quite classic, I usually opt for neutral tones that I know can be matched almost with everything. What I have noted recently, especially after Paris and Milan Fashion Week, is that more and more women ( from the fashionista to the more classic type) are daring to sport bold and bright shades of red.
Either on the streets or on the catwalk, red makes a strong visual impact. Powerful and exciting, it’s a form of statement without doing anything. What I like about red is that it complements almost every kind of skin. During winter, for example, my skin turns quite pale so I try to stay away from grey or beige. With red it’s not the same due to its several tones, varying form bright red, to burgundy or coral. I decided to give it a try and to start wearing it more. What I have noticed is that when I wear red it’s like a bold statement that I am in charge and I feel full of energy and power! My advice? Everybody should try it to have a red piece in their wardrobe. In a bad mood or unmotivated? Just wear your read piece and you will immediately notice its inner power! If you don’t feel comfortable on wearing a full red look from tip to toe as a start you can opt for some statement pieces, such as shoes, trousers, dresses or tops. If this is still too much you can always go for some red stripes or red mixed with other colors – Gabriela Hearst offers an interesting selection for this.
