The Christmas season has officially begun and with it comes the stress of finding the right gift for our loved ones. I love Christmas shopping and finding the right gift for my parents or partner..however, I am aware on how challenging this can be. There is nothing worse then being stuck the day before Christmas without presents! Nonetheless, Christmas has become a synonym of shopping and over-consumption. This is why it is more and more important to shop consciously  and carefully choose the right gift. This year we have curated a selection of items that will help you to make sustainable choices. Remember to take your time before purchasing and every little action we take is a step forward a conscious revolution.

1. Muun mini Castor bag

Lauren Manoogian launched her namesake ready-to-wear line crafting organic yarns and ‘antiquated’ loomed knitwear, inspired by her extensive travels, rooted in tradition, Manoogian creates intuitive collections that fuse simple silhouettes and soft, earthy colour palettes with sustainable philosophies to produce unique and honest women sweaters, tops and pants. The Beret is hand-loomed in Peru from a technical alpaca wool blend fabrication in a soft tactile weave, featuring a minimalistic design.

3. Funagata waxed canvas bag

Designed and produced by Tama Art University Sculpture graduate Kazumi Takigawa in 2012, Funagata crafts wax-finished canvas craft bags. The concept originates from the simple brown paper bag; taking its inherent aesthetic qualities and combining it with a unique design and production process resulting in a durable and unique bag based on longevity. The brand philosophy is underpinned by sustainability; hand-crafting canvas bags which are naturally dyed using tea, oolong, coffee and iron as a mordant in Takigawa’s Japan-based atelier. Balancing stiffness and suppleness, the 002 Waxed Canvas Bag is crafted from ethical, long-lasting durable cotton and finished with a wax treatment.
