Spend your bucks on a bucket bag now

It is the bag of choice right now

Bags, bags, bags everywhere! Now that summer is almost over, it’s time to refresh our wardrobe and why not opt for a statement bag? You know, one of those lovely bags that you see everywhere around during fashion week – they are so lovely that you just don’t want to leave them alone anymore! This season my attention got caught by the mini bucket bags. I am upgrading my straw versions (I guess by now you know how obsessed I am with them) to the winter-leather ones.

Maybe they are not the best choice for your everyday errands where a big handbag might be a better option. However, they are perfect for your everyday aperitivo, dinners and nights out! I recently felt in love with two specific brands and models. First with the Simon Miller bonsai bucket bag. Just looking at it makes me happy. The color and the shape are so elegant and minimalistic at the same time. I am also obsessed whit the circle handle. Simon Miller produces the entire women’s collection in the USA in collaboration with organic mills to reduce their impact and conserve water, in addition to working with independently run family mills and artisans in France and Japan. The brand focuses heavily on incorporating OZONE technology in their production, as well as employing ceramic stones in the denim wash processes. Simon Miller donates excess product on a yearly basis to local organizations. The second bucket bag that got all my attention is the Mlouye lantern bag, which combines style and sustainability. Known for its unexpected shapes and on-point colorways, Mlouye was formed on three central pillars: good design, quality, and elegance. Founder and designer Meb Rure, who has a background in industrial furniture design and architecture, sources leather only from environmentally-friendly tanneries in Italy, Turkey, and France, then all items are handcrafted in Turkey, where Mlouye was born. Focusing on quality over quantity, the label currently offers about 14 styles.
